My GP has offered to refer me to an Endocrinologist as I have low B12, D, Cortisol and raised antibodies. I already have Hashi's and Ulcerative Colitis and feel so tired every day I feel like I have weights on every limb. I have found Consultant Dr Hisham Maksoud who works in Nottingham and London and have tried to book him through my private insurance. Apparently he does not take Aviva patients and will not have anything to do with Aviva. I am absolutely gutted as he specialises in thyroid conditions amongst other things. Has anyone been to see him and would they recommend him? Also, does anyone know any other Endocrinologists in the Nottinghamshire area that specialises in thyroid conditions?
Thanks so much,
Jo

My endo is Dr Maksoud. He is a lovely, lovely man and cannot do enough for you. He is, by far, the nicest medic I have ever come across, however.... As you can see from my earlier post, I am very much struggling with my thyroid at the moment as Dr Maksoud hasn't quite got the meds right (in my opinion). That shouldn't detract you from seeing him though, I'm sure I'll get there in the end, it's just slow sometimes. Dr Maksoud is always willing to listen and help, though he is not keen on NDT.
Hi Claycat, thank you for letting me know. He must have his reasons for not seeing Aviva patients. I've managed to book a consultant in Leicester on Tuesday so I'm hoping he can help. xx
