Thryoid test results - can someone take a look?.

End March results

Free t4 - 40.2

TSH - 0.02

T3 -8.5

Mid May

Free T4 16.6

TSH - 0.02

No t3 tested

Had my Carbimazole reduced from 40 mg to 20 mg. I notice the TSH is very low - does this mean anything?

Thanks in advance - always grateful

Jo

gt,

There is a lot of variation in your results. Can you post the ranges (numbers in brackets) for members to give a more informed answer.

Your thyroid profile is going in the right direction.

It takes a while for your TSH to recover … it can stay suppressed for a few months especially if you have Graves' disease.

Thank you elderflower , I guess time will tell if it's Graves . I've been told to go back in 6 months - seems so far away.

I think you should insist on a blood test in 2 months.

20 mg is still quite a high dose for Carbimazole; you may go hypo if you stay on that for 6 months without any checks.

Your GP should be able to request the test even if your endo appointment is not for 6 months

I will do that . Thought I might do the blue horizon test as well . Thanks for your advice . Just been reading about Graves and I fit the bill for 90% of it 😟

I've read here that selenium supplements and 100% gluten free diet can lower antibodies. Have you tried these?

Have you ever been tested for coeliac - if it runs in your family, might be worthwhile checking to know for sure. Do read up on diets for autoimmune conditions; you would get a lot of tips on what to avoid and what to eat. It's also important to learn to relax and reduce stress if you have Graves'.

Did you not get tested for thyroid antibodies when you were diagnosed ? That would confirm if you have Graves' or not.

No I didn't that I know of . My children get the coeliac from their paternal Nan but I fit with so many of the symptoms of graves. I will get researching on this Thanks for all your advice - so helpful xx
