thyroid scans

As some of you may recall from previous posts I had a thyroid scan done privately at the begining of january. Is it a good idea to have another at some point or should the one i had be enough? If so how long should i leave it before having another?

If you have a thyroid nodule, cyst or goitre it may be worth repeating the scan. I doubt it is worth doing so in under a year.

thats what i was thinking clutter as when i had the scan in january the physician asked if id had one before so that she could compare any changes but that was the first id had. Ive had a word with the PALS team at the hospital and told them i was unhappy with the appointment i had so their going to investagate. not going to build my hopes up just in case. I have a few small nodules close together a bit like a raspberry but will wait till maybe the end of the year to get another scan.

When I first found lump on my thyroid I had a scan and needle biopsy within two weeks. The result was clear of cancer in the nodules they sampled but as I had lots of nodules the recommendation was to have a thyroidectomy, I refused at that point (as it was a bit of a shock) and went for annual scan/biopsy on my GP' s advice. After the third scan they didn't do a biopsy as could see clearly that I needed the operation as it was growing substernally. So I thought that at least I lasted three years before the aggro of getting medication right but now I know the hypo symptoms I truly believe I was hypo before op anyway. Unfortunately I don't have a tsh level that plays by the rules, like other female family members I am hypo but with low tsh. My poor mum recently had her levo reduced because of her blood results and she became like a zombie with a resting heart rate of 38, gp panicked and upped it again but she's struggling to recover at the moment. Sorry I've rambled off topic a bit. Are you under nhs or going private?

i have multiple hypoehoic nodules there clustered together and resemble a raspberry. apart from the dr who did my scan no other dr or endo seem concerned and ive now n been referred back to gp who has contacted the local mental health team as they believe the symptoms are all in my head.
