Over the top rant on blood labs. Same story.......

GM,. I just need to vent how frustrated I am this morning.  I have been battling with my PC for sometime over my thoughts my symptoms were thyroid related.  She convinced me last year NDT was quack meds.  After a year of no progress I took charge and started it 3 days ago.  

I figured the least I could get out of her were my labs done.  I emailed her a list of what I needed done even stretching it to say the endo wanted them.  I fired him awhile ago!!!

I get there this am and only TSH and T4 again. I was so specific too. Just utterly disappointed in a doctor I trusted for so long. 

So today I send for my own tests and hopefully new intergrated Doctor Monday will be more on the topic and up to date.  

I just had to vent   I was screaming inside when I walked out of office   

Thank you all.  Your knowledge and support has been tremendous.  I wouldn't be here trying a new approach without you.  😀😀😀

Hi 637elphaba , you type @ then start typing the person's name. A little box opens up under the name you then click on the correct name. Hope this makes sense.

Some GP practices can only order TSH and FT4.  The Lab may decide to test FT3 if TSH is very suppressed, but often FT3 is only being tested in secondary care when TSH is suppressed.

Thank you for that.  I just wish she would tell me straight out she could not because I would have already done my own.  Now I am going into the new doctor without complete labs.  Oh well one step forward and next one next week

The GP can only order TSH and possibly T4 the endo can order any tests he/she feels fit.

The problem is Glynisrose  even the endos have their requests ignored. My recent blood test requested by the endo and writing on the form specific reason for FT3 to be tested and it still wasn't done. No hope is there.

My PC could have ordered it.  She just didn't want to because there was no reason my TSH was fine.   

They won't even listen.
