Apologies I hit the send button! My results are

Free T4 = 11.7

Free T3 = 4.2

TSH= 2.9

haven't got the ranges to hand but dr has asked me to make an appointment. I have an underactive thyroid and am taking 75mg of Levothyroxine daily. Thanks

I have loads of symptoms lethargic weight gain brain fog etc and have been asking for a re to see a specialist. Just wondered what others thought of the levels. Hopefully they will now refer me.

Well, you are simply not on enough medication.   You need to get the free t4 at the top end of the range and the tsh below 1.   An increase of levothyroxine to either 100 or 125 would be a good idea.

If the doctor is  worried about you going hyper, reel off the signs of hyperthyroudism,,  ( tremor, heat intollerance, losing weight, fast heartrate and so on) and assure him if you get any of them you will reduce meds immediately and contact him.

the dr A Toft book  gives guidance which might persuade your doc to increase your meds..     Dr toft is a retired endocrinologist who used to be head of the BTA.    He could probably be higher up the endocrine knowlege ladder than your doc.....      Here is a link to his booklet.....    amazon.co.uk/Thyroid-Disord...

Thank you for this. I have been telling them for ages I needed my meds increased. I need a heater in work and a hot water bottle at home for my hands. Along with all of the rest of the symptoms.

Well I'm happy. Saw a locum dr who said straight away she was increasing my meds. Now put on 100mcg and have to have a repeat blood test in 6 weeks. I said I was worried I would go back into the normal range but stillhave symptoms. She said it's not about the range it's about how you feel so come back and if your symptoms are still bad then we will increaseyour meds again and refer you to a specialist. Finally a dr that listens.
