I have an under active thyroid and I have acid reflux. I have heard that apple cider is good for acid reflux. Does anyone know how much to take and when??

I have this problem too.....but, when I explained it to my gp, he said that I was being silly as if I had too much acid (i.e.. acid reflux), then adding more acid (the vinegar) would certainly not help! So he gave me antacids...which don't help at all!! But, the vinegar does. I take a tablespoon or so in a glass with hot water and honey at night.

I suspect the answer is that I have too little acid in my tummy....and the symptoms of that must be the same as acid reflux......and so adding the acid vinegar really helps.

Good luck!

Firstly make sure it is Organic Cyder Vinegar (Aspall sell in most supermarkets) dont touch the Classic version though. You need a spare bottle so you can water it down somewhere in the region of 3 parts water to 1 part OCV. Drink a couple of slurps a couple of times a day. Fair to warn you that its still pretty sharp and you might need to add a touch more water, but not so much that it becomes too weak. For some reason the acid in this vinegar equalizes out stomach acid.

You need apple cider vinegar WITH MOTHER, organic, raw, unfiltered, unpasteurised, like this one biona.co.uk/product-247-4.html . Boots, Amazon, Ethical Superstore, plus other places sell it.

I put one tablespoon of runny honey (you could use less according to taste) in a small mug, add some warm water (to about a third to a half of the mug) and stir. Then add a tablespoon of ACV with MOTHER (invert bottle to mix the Mother in as it settles at the bottom of the bottle). I sometimes also add some lemon juice. Drink before a meal, it stimulates the digestive juices to help break down the food. I usually take it twice a day. Honey is used to sweeten and make it more palatable, I find it not too bad at all.
