Hi just got print off of recent results & wondered if they look ok

TSH 2.96 miu/L range 0.27 - 4.2

Serum free T4 11.6 pmol/L 12 - 22.0 below range

Crawford1961, no they're not okay because FT4 is below range. Your GP should consider secondary hypothyroidism because TSH is low-normal. Secondary hypothyroidism is due to pituitary dysfunction which prevents TSH rising sufficiently to stimulate thyroid hormone. Levothyroxine is prescribed to replace low T4 and management of secondary hypothyroidism is usually via endocrinology who will investigate whether sex and growth hormones are also deficient.

Thankyou clutter I am now having to wait another 8 wks for t3 test even though it's the second time t4 has come out below range !! Hope that gives some answers .
