They are stupid at times - take more notice of the results than the patients clinical symptoms. We have to read and learn for ourselves but I will give you a couple of links for info. Tick the symptoms list:-

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/diagno...

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...

Also get a blood test for Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.

My levels are higher than yours and my GP won't treat me. My TSH has been 4.2, 5.35,2.93 up and down. My T4 is only 10.2. I was even told I wasn't borderline.

I am in the UK and GP's won't treat until TSH is at 10 and they do not taken into consideration the T4.

Jingyd - read my reply to Kate below about cholesterol. It will reduce when you are adequately treated for your thyroid.....

Kate - Before thyroid testing and people had raised cholesterol - they treated the thyroid :-) Ask your GP to show you research that clearly states statins are beneficial. We NEED cholesterol as hormones are derived from cholesterol. Have you read the book by Dr Malcolm Kendrick - The Cholesterol Con ? He has a website in his name too - maybe time to have a read. Statins have clear side effects which are often hidden from the public. Were you prescribed CoQ10 with your Statins ?

Fibro can be due to LOW T3 and you do not know your result - so do consider having tests done privately.

Shaws has given you lots of reading and the other tests that need doing asap. We have to do so much to help ourselves and not rely on the Doc to make us well.

What are the ranges?

I don't know ranges do I ask doc

in reply to kate4526

Yes. Your doctor will have a copy of your blood results. The receptionist may be able to give you the ranges over the phone or you may have to pay for a copy of your blood results. This is £5 so I believe!

It's always good to keep a copy of your blood results for your own records, especially when dealing with this sort of condition.

I get a copy and always write what dosage I was taking when bloods were taken and any symptoms I was experiencing at the time. It's very helpful.
