We must also remember the late Seaside Susie who was a fantastic member of the team, so knowledgeable.

F&nc,

What's happening?

Fruitandnutcase profile image
Fruitandnutcase in reply to radd

Don’t worry, I don’t think anything is happening - I just followed up a post by RedApple reminding us about the TUK administration rules etc by saying thank you to them for all the hard work they put in.

They really are an amazingly hard working and knowledgeable group of people who work constantly on our behalf. I’d say of all the groups I belong to they are without doubt the best administrators around so we’re very lucky to have them.

Life changing, so knowledgeable and wise! I am beyond grateful, admins have given me the only hope I have that I am on the right track, which is what gets me through all this unpleasant waiting. I’d be lost without you. Thank you!

I’d say this forum has been essential to changing thousands of people’s lives.

It would be good if there was a way this collective wisdom could be shared more widely.

Admins, have you considered a book?

True. So grateful for all I have learned from this site, and the obvious commitment and dedication behind the scenes. The breadth of knowledge, and your individual support and kindnesses are extraordinary. Thank you.

And a heartfelt thanks to SeasideSusie, whose loss i feel every time I search through older posts. Wherever, may she and her memory be blessed.

Really true you are amazing with the support and your knowledge. You go behind the limits to advice and help. Never had any doctor or endocrinologist explain so welll to me. You are such a great team.

Thinking to do a fund raising 🤔 for Thyroid uk research (challenge). But not sure what as is winter, and I am struggling with somethings...any ideas are welcome.

🙏🏼👏👏👏

Of all the forums I belong to this is the best because the admins are so brilliant. I've learned so much 😀

Someone above mentioned a book? I personally would prefer admins to start some sort of Thyroid Clinic with combined health professionals and people with lived experience, working collaboratively to support us. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

I second that fruitandnutcase❤️... I can't thank this site enough for all the members and the fantastic team, through my awful journey loosing my thyroid and struggling with thyroid medication, and trying to make sense of blood work.Thank the lord we have this site to come to🙏 because I've gained more info on the subject of thyroid conditions than any specialist or gp could ever have.

Again many thanks.. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I could not agree more! ‘Our’ admin team is amazing. Always there for us with useful tips, unlike some other charities. I asked the Admin team of the Pituitary gland charity for consultant recommendations and was told ‘Go and see your GP or your NHS hospital…’

Wow, if only I had thought of that myself… 🙄

I absolutely agree - huge thanks to the admins! I often read other thyroid forums and lament the lack of the sage advice given there and direct people to HU!

Agree. Don’t know where I’d be without this forum! Dread to think. I’d still be feeling rough on a starter dose of levo…I wouldn’t have known I had tgab without advice to get both antibodies checked…I would have carried on not knowing hardly anything about hypo…the tests and levels…the ideas of “normal”…the vitamins. I wouldn’t have known my ferritin level was low or how to improve it. And I probably would have given up on the levo if it wasn’t for all the advice here about how long things take to even out. It’s all very scary! I feel much better prepared now to handle what comes along now…and where to run back to crying when everything goes belly-up 🤣. xxx

I can't praise this admin team highly enough. I went downhill so far in 2014, but by 2016 I'd learnt on Health Unlocked what I needed to know to get well again. I finally got T3 prescribed in 2016 and it was a complete life changer.

I don't know if I'd still be here without HU - I felt near collapse and often I didn't care if I was here or not.

Now I look after my grandchildren, help run a thriving local choir; and co-lead 2 thyroid patient groups submitting papers to NHSE, DoHSC and The Lords. Woe betide anyone who tells me T3 is a placebo!!

I recommend HU to so many people. It's the very best forum with wonderful, knowledgeable, kind admins. I don't know how you keep it up!
