It could be you need your injections more than every 3 months..... Maybe keep a diary of your symptoms from when you have your injection onwards....

I have mine weekly - it is a disgrace that they keep people on such a ridiculous protocol. We are all individuals after all.....

Sorry not sure about iron supps. Have you had your iron tested - taking it when not needed is not good.

I had an itchy scalp until my thyroid levels had improved.

Hi For iron best to have a ferritin test and an iron which shows the bodies absorption.

The best iron is on a script.

Thank you for your help Taking the time to reply Happy New Year

Burning on scalp can be a symptom for iron and zinc deficiencies.

Iron bisglycinate is far more tolerated than ferrous fumarate and ferrous gluconate and you'd only need it in a smaller quantities, as it is highly absorbed, which is a bonus for not upsetting your guts compared to other forms of iron which you need to take them in higher doses to achieve only 10% absorption.

It often comes combined with just enough Vit C to further enhance its absorption.

You are very welcome, T3Mary, and the very best wishes for the new year with the hope that you'll feel better soon.

You could try Solgar gentle iron, though it is a bit expensive, iron bisglycinate is quite cheaply available. I know someone who swears by ferrous fumerate. Try them one by one and switch if one doesn't suit you.
