I was on 125mcg levo for two years and not felt very well, so I decided to try NDT.
So, few weeks ago I reduce the levo dose to 50mcg and added 1grain nature throyd(split dose) but I feel low(down) especially in the second part of the day. I'm on this combo dose about one month. I gained a lot, I feel warmed and I have sometimes palpitations. Wath I did wrong ?
Should I increase/decrease the levo or the ndt ?
I read on STTM it is not ok to mix the levo and ndt because it would increase the reverse rT3(due to add/grow the t4), that blocks the T3 uptake and would exacerbate the hypothyroidism.
Thanks for your good advices

Adin, Quite a few people add T4 or T3 to NDT as the proportions of T4:T3 don't suit everyone. It's not possible to say whether you need more or less T4 or NDT without seeing thyroid blood tests. Palpitations may be due to the T3 in NDT and splitting the NDT into 2 x 1/2 grain doses 6-8 hours apart may reduce the palpitations and improve the afternoon low. 50mcg T4 is roughly equivalent to 1/2 grain NDT. If you want to increase NDT you might consider stopping the T4.

For me i wish i had made a clean switch. It is a long and delicate process, took me a good 4 months to settle.
Based on personal experience, i would ditch the t4 and stick with ndt only: clean switch
