I have this all the time, even worse after a cold. Could this be anything to do with being hypo?

I have constant trouble with my nose. Mostly it's inflamed inside which is uncomfortable. Sometimes I get sores in there too. I've recently wondered if my nose trouble is connected to hypo.

Hi

See your GP I had this a few years ago and treated with antibiotics sores healed and never returned .Nasal drip could be caused by sinus problems .

My doc wouldn't prescribe antibiotics. I have a nasal cream (Nasepetin) for flare ups but they continually come back : - (

I suffered from this a few years back, my nose had previously been broken and it led to all sorts of problems. Sometimes, I didn't feel the drips, my friends would tell me, what an embarassment, anyway to cut a long story short and after trying various prescribed nasel sprays and antihistimines, I had a procedure called Septorhynaplasty(nose job) this has helped me a lot. In my case it was the broken cartlidge that was causing the problems. :) xx I do hope you find relief very soon x

Yes, it can be connected with being hypo. Nasal catarrh, PND and frog in my throat were the bane of my life before I started on NDT. I still have a little PND and have to keep clearing my throat, but it's nothing to what it was.

Look at the subject of your post! :-)

Post nasal drip

Yup, well known to be associated with hypo.

I get this often, especially in cold weather. I find using an anti-histimine nasal spray for a while desensitizes the problem and improves the condition. My GP used to let me get it on prescription as he considered it part of my hashi condition, but I usually just buy my own these days.

Yes I get this, and believe it is linked to being hypothyroid. Gargling with salt water is helpful. Avoiding too much milk in your diet helps too. Eating fresh fruit and salad vegetables is also good. MariLiz
