How to ask the endo next week for a change from T 4 only that's not working .

I've posted quite a few times about my daughter . She has been struggling for 3 years now with Hashi and has been on 100 T4 daily ..she is not well and regularly had flare ups even though blood tests at the Dr say all normal . .I recently posted B12 levels that blue horizon did saying needing increase as low ..she had same test at Dr and they say no need for treatment all ok .....what is the matter with all these Dr,s !!!! ... She is treating herself with B12 anyway !!!!! She has a appointment ( privately ) next Thurs At Spire Hospital in Bristol ..she is going to try and get a trial for T3 , is that the best approach as I have read on this site that the endo there prescribes Armour .Is it best to try t3 first ? She has all the symptoms still of hypo ...low temp ,swollen face neck , she is struggling to keep working ....Thank you for your help .Val

Val-55, if your daughter's TSH is low, FT4 high, and FT3 low it indicates poor T4 to T3 conversion and she will benefit from the addition of Liothyronine (T3) added to Levothyroxine. A private prescription for T3 is very expensive and your daughter might want to consider buying affordable Turkish or Greek T3 without prescription on the internet.

Would the private endo who she has seen also on the NHs not advise her Gp or doesn't it work like that ,,, just wanted her to see him when she is poorly as waiting 2 months plus for an NHS app again quite often she has perked up again it really is a constant roller coaster !, Her t3 is about half way her T4 is 3 over top range and TSH under 1 .thanks for your advice ..is it safe to by T3 from outside the UK ?

Val-55, some GPs will prescribe T3 on the recommendation of a private endo but some CCGs have been insisting on the recommendation from NHS endos.

If you use a site recommended by members you should be confident of receiving your order. Many members self medicate with Tiromel and Uni-Pharma T3 and some prefer it to Mercury Pharma T3 prescribed in the UK.
