I posted a while back about a rather amazing reaction to 1/2 grain of armour (now nature throid) for my cfs symptoms.
Basically about 30% more energy within 2 hours.
Anyhows the effects seem to have worn off, i dont get the energy buzz i did and having had my thyroid tests done including rt3, everything is normal. T4-17, t3-6.2, rt3 ratio:24. Tsh 1.47.
Anyhows i think the issue is my adrenals which are royally messed up from being ill and stressed, so i want to sort them and hope that modulating my cortisol will allow my thyroid to function or be supported better knowing that cortisol influences cellular thyroid levels.
So, im only on 1/2 grain, should i go to 1/4 and then taper off, or should it be okay to just come off as it is a low starting dose? I should remind that it was a trial.in the first place and my thyroid on paper functions okay. So it is not needed for me.like some people.
Thoughts appreciated!
Thanks

Kinoble, isn't it likely your thyroid function is now good due to the 1/2 grain you have been taking? Improving thyroid function often improves adrenal function at the same time. You can also supplement adrenals without stopping thyroid support. If you want to trial a period without NDT you can can stop 1/2 grain without weaning off.

My t4 and t3 stayed the same.from a previous test, not higher or lower. Tsh did drop from 2.7.
That initial wonder effect i had only lasted a week max. I kept taking it till now just incase. Perhaps i should have moved up dose, but seeing as my rt3 was fine (admitedlly was tested after taking 1/2 grain for 1month) i didnt really have a reason too as i was betting money on the fact that it a poor ratio. It wasnt.
However the effect was most certainly the strongest wellness.feeling i have had in 4 years, and i am thinking it was to do with stimulating my adrenals.
Hence why i now think.i should work.on them.first...
Like i say all my labs are good now, and were at beggining of treatment so i cant realy justify taking more, seeing as my rt3 was good too.
Im thinking fix my adrenal or cortisol swings, and get my thyroid tested again when on Nothing, and see where its at.
I wondered the safety of just coming off 1/2 grain. 4.5mg t3, 19mg t4.
Kinoble, it's perfectly safe. I had to come off 150mcg Levothyroxine for 4 weeks. I was prescribed 60mcg T3 for 2 of those weeks but was cold turkey for 2 weeks plus another 4 days before I could resume Levothyroxine.
