I am prescribed NDT via my private consultant. At my last appointment he increase me to 1 grain NDT and reduced levo to 50mcg.
I have been on this dose for 6 weeks on Friday. I am due to go on holiday in a week.
The last week or so I've noticed my energy dropping and that 'i need an increase' feeling. I will try and get in touch with my consultant before I go but I guess I'm just looking for reassurance that uping my dose by 1/2 grain is ok?
That seems most common. Some people who are very sensitive to T3 may prefer to add only 1/4 grain at a time, but 1/2 grain should be fine otherwise.
I self medicate and slowly built up my dose on 1/4 grain increases weekly monitoring my pulse, blood pressure and temperature twice daily.
If it weren't for the holiday I would probably do it 'properly' and wait for a blood test in a couple of weeks but I know I'm ready for an increase; this feeling is very familiar now...!
I also know this isn't my final dose; consultant wants to wean me off levo entirely so there's at least one .ore adjustment to be made!
I know you are not supposed to, but I up or down my dose by half a pill depending on how I am feeling quite often. That moment before you go to sleep always gives me a clue - absolutely brain dead, up the dose, slight feeling of a shiver, down the dose. It works for me, but I am a bit strange...
