Fibromalagia and skin crawling

My sister has had fibromalagia for the last 5 years and is on Morfine, for the last 6 months she has been getting severe itching all over her body, it is like a domino affect ie she scratches one bit then it moves to another part of her body, she has said that it feels like something is crawling under her skin and she gets it for about 3 days 24/7 then a couple of days break and it starts again, she moved to a new flat in November 2014 and when she is out of the flat she is fine. Has anyone experienced this? Could it be a side affect of the fibromalagia or maybe the Morfine? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as she is struggling with this.

Many Thanks

James

If you mean morphine, then that can cause itching. She could try taking antihistamines which may help with the itching - Fexofenadine 180 mg can be prescribed by her GP which is specifically for itchy skin. Im itching like crazy at the moment and can't find a reason so I sympathise with your sister. I hope it stops soon for the both of us. Clemmie
