How do you take your supplements
Nettiboo, most supplements should be taken with, or immediately after, food. Iron may be different, check on the patient information leaflet whether it should be taken with food or on an empty stomach and away from other supplements/meds (definitely 4 hours away from Levothyroxine). I don't take iron and take all supplements together, after dinner. If B12 is sublingual, spray or patch it can be taken at any time.
I had to get a pill minder and set alarms on my iPhone in order to keep track of meds and supplements! It can get very confusing.
I take the majority of my supplements in the morning with breakfast - multivitamin, b12 (as methyl cobalamin), magnesium, zinc, folate, evening primrose, biotin, omega 3, etc. I also take my first dose of lupus meds.
I take iron/ferritin four hours later (anywhere from 11:00am to 1:00pm) along with vitamin C for absorption. Can be taken with or without food.
I take my levothyroxine (hypothyroid meds) around 5:00pm (4 hours after iron) along with D3 (aides absorption) and my second dose of lupus meds. I usually eat a few crackers (lupus meds can cause stomach upset).
