Blood results and ultrasound for goitre

I have managed to get a copy of my blood results and a copy of my ultrasound report.

Free T4 20.1

TSH 0.81

I have a new nodular 2.1cm cystic/solid on the left side as well as several on my right and several calcified foci present.

Pls can you advise if you think i will need medication or surgery? Thanks in advance

Benables, FT4 20.1 is high in most ranges I've seen and TSH 0.80 indicates sufficient thyroid hormone is circulating. The results are unequivocally euthyroid and you won't be prescribed medication.

The 2.1cm nodule and the other calcified nodules, if large enough ie >1cm, should be fine needle aspiration biopsied to rule out malignancy. 95% of nodules are benign and will normally be left in situ unless they are impacting on nearby organs, but this study recommends surgical removal of calcified nodules even when FNA is benign. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/121...
