Hi there - also having a problem with bloating - I eat very little carbs and drink quite a lot of water and am just wondering if this can be as a result of taking glucophage ? I take armour 1 and a half grains per day - any suggestions welcome

Bloating can also be a symptom of hypothyroidism. You may not yet be on an optimum of medication.

is thyroxine necessary for us not to bloat?

Thyroxine (T4) is converted into T3, which is necessary for everything.

Hi All, haven't been on here for some time but again, have some problems with meds. I have tried many various forms of, "Natural Dessicated Thyroid Extract" and end up with the same probs. I thought the one i was taking now was great up until i ordered my second Batch and am having really bad Boating Cramps, Naeusea,. Sorry for spelling but am exhausted by lack of sleep. Have not been able to eat properly now for seven day's as it makes it worse. Stopped taking thyroid meds thinking it may be them. Last Monday morning an hour after taking my meds, i was suddenly gripped with severe cramping, sweating and Nausea. Has anybody else had this problem.

Thank you in advance xx

After TT in May 2014 it has taken until now to find the correct dose FOR ME....I am 76 yrs old, male, weigh 92 kegs and am 1.80 m tall. We are, of course, all different and there is no ideal dose. It happens that 100 mcg Levothyrox with 31.25 Cynomel T3 seem to suit me. I still need to lose a little weight.....regards.

This is the history of hypothyroidism and how we were you diagnosed. Do you have a print-out of your latest blood test results with the ranges so members will be able to respond. In the meantime this is a link:

Doctors know little these days about clinical symptoms. Before levo and the blood tests doctors knew the cause of their patients' symptoms.

Take a look at these photos - a before and after. I am amazed this person didn't miscarry neither was she diagnosed until after her baby was born.

If you truly are eating very little carbs, do you still need the glucophage? I have a friend who was put on metformin who, when it made her very ill, adopted a very low carb diet and was able to come off it. These drugs do not suit everyone and doctors are terrible at telling patients they have a choice.

I too have had a big problem with bloating. I look pregnant most days and no matter what I eat or don't eat it never goes. I've switched to GF and eat no bread etc but still I'm bloated! I'm losing weight now but not off my stomach :(

This problem was why I went to the doctors in the first place, lots of tests later nothing found apart from hypothyroid.
