Hi, please can anyone advise me on dosing Thyro Gold. My delivery has just arrived.

I am on at present 100mg Levothyroxine. With no thyroid

I have been advised

For dosing purposes, I would add 1 capsule of the 150mg to your current daily Levo. This will bump up your T4 but more importantly it will provide a gentle introduction to the T3 which you don't receive on the current levo that you take. After two weeks on this regimen, I would back off of the levo by half and increase the Thyro-Gold by another capsule. After another two weeks, I would switch to 1 capsule of the 300mg Thyro-Gold and 1 capsule of the 150mg Thyro-Gold per day and that should be a good dose to maintain until an increase is needed.

I have also read,

Stop T4-only medication one day and start ThyroGold the next. Do not take both together as this could make you hyper.

Purchase the 150 mg. capsules as they are best for multi-dosing. If you buy 3 bottles, you get the best price. If you are not sure where the website is; google "ThyroGold".

Get a 150 mg. capsule. Open it over a plate. Divide the powder in half with a knife. Take this one half (75 mg.) for two weeks at bedtime. You can either wash it down with water or mix it with honey, peanut butter or Nutella to hide the taste.

After two weeks has passed, add in the other half of the 150 mg. pill so you taking 1/2 of a 150 mg. pill (75 mg.) at bedtime and 1/2 of a 150 mg. pill (75 mg.) about 12 hours later. Do this for two weeks.

Creamsoda, if any of the information came from Tammy Lowe, follow her directions.

My understanding is that 150mg contains 50mcg T4 and 12.5mcg T3, equivalent to 87.5mcg Levothyroxine but I can't verify it. You can contact Tammy Lowe via naturalthyroidsolutions.com...

If I'm correct, adding 150mg to your existing 100mcg Levothyroxine will overmedicate you. You can stop Levothyroxine and start 150mg ThyroGold next day.
