As I cannot find, order WP Thyroid, I am thinking of taking " Thyro gold" from New Zealand.

Has anybody try and have taken these if so can you please let me know what is the quantity/ strength you start with?

Did it help with the hypothyroidism symptoms, I have very high blood pressure and the Levthyroxine I take I have try the 3 brand Teva is a NO NO for me with unbearable headache 24 hours a day and excruciating pain in my right shoulder, Mercury Pharma bad pain in all my joints and every 2, 3 days headaches the muscles on my scalp are super tights, bloated and Actavis constant headache light in the day worse at night and bloating.

And therefore I am desperate to take natural thyroid hormones and more than T4.

Many thanks to you all for your wonderful and very helpful comments.

Good morning, I changed from levo, mostly because of very bad reactions, headaches and very bad skin. I changed to thyro gold in Jan 18, It took a while to come, had to pay extra tax through post office,. My headaches are gone and my skin is fabulous.

It took awhile to get my dose right, first I was too low, I felt improved but did not realise I was low, pains and aches came back, I over compensated and was taking too much.....shown by private thyroid blood test. So keep a strong dairy with signs to look out for.

Read all the information on thyro gold site and email tammy

any questions, they were very helpful. Saying that I am much improved but still searching for more energy.

Hi I tried thyro-gold some time ago, the only side effect I had was that it made me lose weight . I know a lot of folks would consider this a plus but i am on the "skinny" side and struggle to maintain weight. The thyro-gold did not help Hypo symptoms in my case but I was to aware of the weight issue. It gets good reviews generally so i would say give it a try if weight is not a concern!

I have heard good things from a reliable source about Thyro Gold - to the point that I consider Thyro Gold to be my back up solution should my prescribed Armour NDT be withdrawn. However I want to stress that you have to take independent steps to lower your blood pressure (BP), lose some weight and do a lot of exercise. Yes, I know thats a drag but the alternative is a lot worse. T3 will send up BP in some people (me, for example) and as much as I would like to increase my T3 just a tiny bit, my BP hits the ceiling (200/70) when I tried, so I have to stay at a more conservative level to keep it at 140/60 - still not great but not too dangerous. When half of my life is dedicated to diet and exercise I can get it down to 130/60. Aim at not taking BP medication, it will interfere with your thyroid drugs and cause other nasty problems.

The makers of WP do have most of the NatureThroid out. Can you get that? RLC labs.

Just want to chime in that a lot of people originally on WP Thyroid are having trouble on the new version of NatureThroid, even with a dose increase. It may be worth trying, but just keep an eye out for a return of hypothyroid symptoms.

Do you know approximately when the "new" version was begun?

Any Naturethroid that you buy today will almost certainly be the "new" version - it's what's been produced since RLC labs started production again (around the end of 2017 if I remember correctly). The shortage of the "old" versions started Spring/Summer of 2017.

I asked because I bought a bottle of it in December to try and didn't get on well with it at all. I took half a grain and had the worst anxiety ever. Stuck it for a month and then went back to levo because I felt so awful. I have used WP thyroid and Armour in the past and never had that problem. I wondered if it was because it was too strong for me at the time and have considered adding it back in now with levo. But if there are problems with it I'd be daft to do so. What problems manifested themselves?

Yeah, that's almost certainly the new stuff. Most people are having trouble with low free T3 (and accompanying hypo symptoms), even after increasing the dose. There lots of reports on the STTM pages on the Naturethroid/WP Thyroid shortages, as well some threads on here. By the way, I seem to get anxiety as a hypo symptom - at least on the new NatureThroid - even though anxiety is more often associated with hyperthyroidism. My anxiety symptoms are worst first thing in the morning and late on an evening, furthest away from when I take my NDT doses (= when my T3 will be lowest), and my latest blood results show relatively low T3 and T4, so I'm not overdosed. The best way to evaluate the cause of your symptoms would be to get your thyroid hormone levels checked while on NatureThroid - but I'm guessing you don't want to go through another month of those symptoms in order to determine the cause!

One person on here has noticed an improvement on the most recent batch of NatureThroid (though other's results vary), so it might be improving. Others are trying other types of NDTs, like ERFA or NP Thyroid - so there are also other alternatives to levothyroxine if you need an NDT and don't want to try NatureThroid again.

Thanks. I was on a low dose of levo at the time, 50 I think. I took the first half a grain on Christmas Eve and within half an hour I felt lovely. I had a lovely day. I had lots to do and enjoyed it. But the next day I started with the anxious butterflies within half an hour of taking it. It ruined Christmas Day, but improved a bit by evening. However I was so worried I cancelled my parents on Boxing Day (poor them) and I was right, the anxiety just grew from then onwards. Every day, within half an hour of taking it. Leaving me exhausted but more relaxed in the evening. It was a horrible experience. So for me, it looks like it was too strong. I should have quartered it and taken a quarter, but once my brain is affected with the wrong levels of thyroid hormones I was stuffed. I could not think the problem through or sort out a plan.

That does sound like a clear-cut response to taking it - sorry you had such a bad experience! I've also heard that people can have bad responses to T3 if they have low iron or cortisol, so that could be part of your reaction as well - however, I'm not on expert on trouble-shooting that. Maybe it's the formulation as well, especially since you've done fine with other NDTs in the past - I had a similar response to compounded T3 (anxiety + increased heart rate), but then did fine with I switched to WP Thyroid.

I absolutely have no problem with NatureThroid. Even lost 20 lbs.

Glad it's still working for you! Quite a few people (myself included) who did well on WP Thyroid or NatureThroid before RLC labs changed their production facilities are now having trouble on NatureThroid. However, everyone has individual responses, so it's still working for many people - just something to be aware of. I'm contemplating trying Thyrogold as well.
