Could you please advise on which form of Vitamin C is best absorbed and tolerated?

I tried plain ascorbic acid, but since I read infos linking it with kidney stones' risk, I bought pure acerola/camu camu powder. However, I found this powder upsets my stomach, so now I'm back on ascorbic acid.

Thank you!

Yes, but it is now recommended enough in the diet and too much is harmful.

recommended by who? !

most fruit and veg have very little vit c left as it degrades quickly in light and air. Vit C is a pretty benign vitamin as it is water soluble and impossible to overdose -diarrhoea if too much for your own needs. Yes certain forms can be irritant to the stomach and kidneys if you have issues with them but I have never heard anyone who really knows about these things say it is harmful. recommended daily levels are 60 mg which is an absolute joke - you lose more than that just living a normal life....

As with any other medication/supplement the best way of finding out what suits your body is seeing a professional kinesiologist who can test various compounds and brands and advise what will be most helpful or tolerated. Trial by error also works but takes more time and is certainly less comfortable... 8-)

I use Magnesium Ascorbate which is what is known as the "buffered" form of ascorbic acid. I have no tummy problems t all with it and I take a high dose. Biocare make it in powder form and I dissolve it in my daily drinking water.
