T3
Hi Margaret
There is also a T3 called Cytomel which might suit. Sometimes it's the fillers/binders which might affect us. I've had to switch several times on different thyroid hormones as I wasn't feeling so good.
Cytomel (King Pharmaceuticals which is now part of Pfizer)

A synthetic T3 which is available from America.
It comes in 5mcg, 25mcg and 50mcg tablets.

Yes, Dr S is missed by many and he had the courage of his convictions that blood tests don't always confirm thyroid gland dysfunctions.
Quite a few of our members self-medicate with NDT and there are several.
Another member says there is gluten in Cytomel.

i did not see it listed on their website.
Margaret, some members seem to find Cynomel more potent than Liothyronine. Have you had thyroid blood tests recently to check you aren't overmedicated?
Cynomel is Liothyronin. I am not sure i understand. Do you mean generic Liothyronin? What are your symptoms? I have gotten worse since being on t3 only, but don't know why that is, if it is due to medication or not.
Faith, There are two Cynomel's, Sanofi/Aventis (French) and Grossman (Mexican). Mercury Pharma Liothyronine is generic and is the only T3 licensed for UK use.
Have the pharmacy check Cynimel's fillers. One brand in the U.S. Actually contains gluten as a filler. The generic does not.
