Not that I have any experience, but have you asked about NDT which - as it is natural thyroid - contains t3 as well as t4? It would seem that many drs are very reluctant, but unless you ask, there is no way of knowing if yours is one of them. Has your dr refused to get your t3 tested? Are you being treated with a gp or endocrinologist as it may make a difference?

You could insist on seeing an endo, they are more likely to prescribe t3 that is how I got a prescription. and I am currently feeling much better. It would be worth posting your last results, so others more competant than myself can comment.

Do you supplement, it may be worth getting vit d VIt B ferritin and folate tested. I waited for two years before i paid for the test myself as my gp was a dufus (i like that word) I was both vit D and vit B deficient this has allowed me after supplementing for a while to reduce my meds a little without feeling too ill.

I wish you luck if possible try to work with gp or endo the support is useful. If not then you will have to research yourself, I used the book recovering with t3 this helped me decide how to treat myself after BUPA refused to let me go back to my endo. I also have the book by Dr Peatfield this helped me a lot in just understanding how things worked it is a little meaty for me but I kinda got the jist of things.

You could speak to your local chemist and see if any other local gp's are prescribing NDT or T3 my chemist gave me a name of an doctor that was and I moved to her and that is how I got my prescription for t3.

I received my Cynomel last October from <an online source>. Send an email and see what they have to say.

[ Edited by admin because yet again you have identified specific online sources who will supply without a prescription. ]
