Endo agrees to trial 25mg thyroxine for my Hashimoto's despite normal TSH, T4 and T3

Just to share that based on my symptoms and family history of Hashimoto's, my endo has agreed to trial 25mg Thyroxine. I'll be so glad if it turns out that this has been contributing to my symptoms. I'll let you know...

Halinka, I'll be surprised if 25mcg helps much as it is such a low dose. For maximum absorption take Levothyroxine with a glass of water one hour before, or two hours after, food and drink, 2 hours away from other medication and supplements and 4 hours away from iron, calcium, vitamin D and oestrogen.

Thanks Clutter. Given my t3 and Tsh are perfect I can hardly expect him to start me on a high dose. There is the risk I could go hyperthyroid.

Halinka, no, of course not. I hope it does help and congratulations on persuading the endo to prescribe. It's unusual to find someone who will do so unless bloods are abnormal.
