Saw my Pharmicist today about T3 supplies.

Sorry for the delay, but managed to see my Pharmicist today as we had an enquiry from another member about supplies of Mercury Pharma Liothyronine about 6 days ago, saying that she was unable to get her full prescription, which was worrying.

My Pharmicist said that he was unaware of any problems at the moment and checked that he has ample T3 in stock. He advised to always put my prescription in early though for T3 so that he has plenty of time in case he does have to order it.

I also questioned that my latest supply was not in it's usual container and therefore had no expiry date on it.

He assured me that all prescriptions given to me would never have an early expiry date and that my medications are always for two months only so nothing to be concerned about.

Regarding batch numbers,if I had any problems with my meds I know not to hesitate to take them in to him to ask his advice. He has always been very approachable and helpful so I am feeling quite reassured as I know that problems about T3 quite often crop up on this site.

He did acknowledge that there are sometimes problems with suppliers, but nothing that he knows of at this moment with T3.

That's good to know and has reassured you. Usually medication has about 2 years before it is to be rejected.

Yes....thanks for your reply Shaws.....there often seems to be concerns about T3 supplies so worth checking with our pharmacists. I think they are now a reliable source of information which you often don't need to go to your GP for which is a great help to both GPs and patients.

Our chemist below our surgery has recently had a refit and a new consulting room installed .

Regarding T3 I do appreciate that I am fortunate to get it prescribed by my GP but only after seeing an Endocrinologist who recommended I might benefit from it and it was he who issued the first prescription, which my GP then continued to supply.

Yes, it makes a huge difference to some between good health and not so good.
