The availability of thyroid replacement hormones must be guaranteed. Patients must have the
possibility to always stay on their usual brand.
The national health authorities must look not only on the sale price of the thyroid replacement
hormones, but also on the reliability and quality of the production process.

Thanks for all the info my chemist tried to give me different brand of meds but I always make sure it's the same one
What other levothyroxine tablets do you get in Ireland?
Is there somewhere to look up this sort of information? It would be useful to have a website which had that for Ireland so we could keep up to date and provide a link to others.
I must ask my pharmacist what other type we can get here. I'm seeing a private endo who's put me on new dose if this won't work then adding T3 in 6 weeks. It would be good if we could get a website here in Ireland there are a good few members from Ireland with this brill website. Unfortunately we are abandoned like everyone else and even though it's a lifelong condition we have to pay for everything. I would love a site here connected with thyroid uk
Oh dear Mauds, you didn't get your question answered. I hope someone out there has some insight as to what you are experiencing.
Is there any possibility that you've been doing some sort of physical activity (spring cleaning, pulling heavy things around, carrying something heavy) that could have caused some inflammation and mild nerve impingement? The burning sensation is coming from the smallest, unmyelinated nerve fibres. When I've experienced it in the past it was like someone applied a hot iron against the skin. Neuropathic pain. It was, in my case, the last of a series of nerve compression pains so I was headed in the right direction despite the misery of it. If you had no pain before then I'd venture a guess that you've got some sort of squeezey thing going on for some reason. Could even be postural if your job has involved any change that is less than ideal for you alignment...... as you can see all I can do here is take a stab at it. And stabbing pain is bigger nerves and more impingement..;). may you not get it.
Thanks it started with shoulder and neck pain when I started back on 100 eltroxin was with osteopath last Thursday and since then I've the burning sensation with the pain. I'm back with him next week I hope he can sort it out
ah, blame the osteopath.
I'm actually starting to blame the eltroxin. As soon as I increased to 100 the pain started. The very same happened around this time last year and it seems a coincidence that I was on 100 then. The osteopath is trained in acupuncture might ask him to try that and see if it will ease things.
Maud's. Do you mind my asking if you are from ireland would you mind giving me name of your doctor by pm please.
Just a thought, have you had your gall bladder checked? I had that type of pain and that is what it turned out to be. I did blame it on my thyroid, and afterwards discovered that gallstones are very common with hypothyoidism, because everything is sluggish and so the stones are able to form. It wouldn't hurt to get it checked out.
I get this pain as well and chalked it up to a Hashi's flare. I have had my gallbladder checked and it was fine. Sometimes massage will help, but it always comes back eventually.
yes i get the burning and pain when ever my thyroid is playing up. I is normaly when my TSH is going low .
