I do, I usually buy Swanson Ultra 100mg, but it is not available today so I have just bought Jarrow Formulas, same strength, both from Amazon.

Thanks. I have googled Swanson and see it is ubiquinone. Do you know difference between Ubiquinone and ubiquinol? Is it just an absorption thing?

Thanks

I'm taking Swansons Ultra CoQ10 200mcg at the moment, I've had that before and thought it was ok. I've just finished some Holland and Barrett 120mcg. Jarrow's are good too, I use their sublingual B12. I usually just choose something at the strength I want and a price I can afford.

I had ubiquinol not too long ago, I'm not sure I could tell the difference so I'm back on regular CoQ10.

Is it any good for energy. I have extreme fatigue due to pain, PoTS and thyroid (in normal range!)I have a Holland and Barratt pot in my collection, but haven't tried it.

Hi, I have taken CoQ10 for a very long time, at 30mg per day. It helps a little in a general way. Currently I take Super Bio-Quinone Q10 form Pharma Nord and it is good, though I do prefer a lower price. I have had various economy ones in recent years, but then the companies stop making them. Every kind I have tried works, but watch out for harmful hydrogenated fats. Also, it is said that oil-based ones work better than powder-based ones and there is a trend to change to powder - Holland & Barratt has changed, I think.

I use ubiquinone (same but "stronger") from Healthy Origins (from bigvits.co.uk)

Thanks for all the replies. I was asking as my husband takes statins and has several side effects. He is also hypothyroid. I read that you should take Q10 alongside or stop taking statins totally. Any experience anyone?

I gather your doctor should tell you to take CoQ10 when you start taking statins but a lot don't, mine certainly didn't.

In the end (well after taking them for a couple of weeks - not long I know ) I stopped taking the statins. I wasn't taking CoQ10 at that time though, perhaps if I had been I wouldn't have felt so terrible.

When my thyroid was hyper my cholesterol was really low, now my thyroid is back to 'normal' my cholesterol has zoomed up. So I blame my thyroid. Next time I see my GP I'm going to bring that up.

Hi Fruit and Nut. Well he was not told to take CoQ10 when he started on statins. He is going to stop for a while and see how things go, but take the CoQ10. Will let you know how it progresses.
