Hi there

Just wondered if anyone takes this? I’m thinking of starting it but it’s expensive so hoping for some feedback from others.

Thanks!

Hi this link contains useful info, healthline.com/nutrition/co..., I've taken it when I was exercising a lot and found it helpful. It gave me energy and stamina.

Hi apparently the Ubiquinol form is meant to be the most bioavailable. Another similar product is Alpha Lipoic acid, another substance the body needs for mitochondrial production.

Alpha Lipoic Acid can possibly affect conversion of T4 to T3. I did find my FT3 level dipped when I took it.

Hi oh that's very interesting, so maybe not suitable for hypos then?

Probably not, no.

Yes, I have been taking it for some time. I take the Ubiquinol form (the reduced/converted/active form which is said to be preferable for older people) rather than the Ubiquinone form. However, as usual, there is conflicting information about this so who do you believe 🤷‍♀️

Yes it is expensive, and the Ubiquinol form more expensive than the Ubiquinone form, so it is a considered purchase.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I didn’t know there were different types, so I’m really glad I asked 😊

I took co Q10 for quite a while, but didn't find it did anything for me. Did find I felt any worse when I stopped it, either.

Hi depending on who you read the jury seems out on the benefits of Co enzyme Q10 as a supplement, it's been touted as a wonder substance for everything from cancer to alzheimers, but the clinical trials are either negative or ambivalent, certainly for helping serious diseases.

It might help energy and how you feel and like anything else some will find it helpful and others won't.

I took CoQ10 for a while - the ubiquinol kind - and did not find it made any difference.

And yet it's so expensive as supplements go.

I know, right?! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Great to know, thank you to greygoose as that was exactly the kind of information I was needing. So many things can negatively effect the thyroid and I am already a poor converter so definitely don’t need help in that department!
