Well I just took my body temp and its 97.8 and I'm freezing still. Is this a sign that I'm not at normal range yet? I've been a week on Nature Thyroid and one tablet 65mg. My body temp low and its the reason I'm shedding. Uggggggg.....

Hi debber, one week? Is this the only treatment you have had? Normally it takes months to see clear results from hormone replacement.

Did you start on the dose of 65 or one grain? Sometimes it is better to work up to a grain over a few weeks if you have never taken it before.

Yeah, Heloise, one week. Well good to know it will be a few more months. I'll be patient. I will read the links you sent. Yeah I'm going work my way up. Thank you for resting my concerns. It's such a struggle and doesn't come soon nuf

Yes, Deb, it's quite a journey but the positive is that you do have something that will start improving your symptoms soon. Please keep asking any questions or concerns you have and read some of the wonderful articles that experts in the field (unlike GPs that you may be stuck seeing) give us through their own research. You'll learn that your adrenal health is important to work with your Naturethroid since they work together to achieve the correct metabolism (which will hopefully raise your temperature.)

I don't know how long you have been "coming down" with your symptoms or if you know whether you have Hashimoto's or not but after awhile you may become deficient in some important cofactors. I think low metabolism may cause these deficiencies and you have to be aware of your iron levels, folate and ferritin. You are possibly low in vitamin d and B12 easily and could start supplementing those at least daily requirements even without a blood test to verify.

There are many helping hands here and eager to see people overcome this very neglected condition.

Hi Any thyroid treatment takes a long time to work and in fact often worse before improve. My body temp is always very low and it is not my thyroid, so although it may be not necessary so.

Do you happen to know what other things can cause low body temeperature? When i was slim, fit and was well, before Hashi's. my temp was a stable 97.3..normal is supposed to be 98.6. Now i am sick all the time, temps are not stable. Sometimes high for me too. Thank you

HI Know but when I was over weight before thyroid treatment it was low, now I am underweight it is still low. I know my normal temp. has always been low. When my GP did not believe me ,it broke her thermometer!!!!

Jackie I have same problem. I can never get it up to 98. I always wonder the same thing Hun. Idk what it is. It has to be the thyroid. When I get fever I go low not high even when I was a kid. I'm always cold so I'm going to say it's thyroid doing it as its not normal to be cold. I am always colder than others and layer tons of clothes. Even when taking my meds I am too, not as bad tho.
