Topaz, TSH is low and FT3 at the bottom of the range so your GP should not reduce your Levothyroxine or FT4 will drop and your FT3 will go below range making you hypothyroid.
Some people need a low or even suppressed TSH to achieve a decent level of FT4 and FT3. Read Dr. A. Toft's comments in a Pulse Magazine article thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...
Thanks Clutter, I have read the article and will keep it 'up' so when the GP phones I can refer to it. I did reduce my Armour because of pounding heart but, after reading posts on here realised it was the 5HTP. So have started again on 1 grain, going up 1/4 every 10 days to where I was before on 2 grains and have stopped the 5HTP.
Topaz, the T3 in NDT suppresses TSH, as pituitary gland switches it off when it detects circulating T3. Your FT3 is too low though so you do need to increase your Armour.
It would be good to have a Clutter sitting at the doctors' side when they are contemplating a decrease a patient's levo/hormones only due to the TSH level. She knows more than most medical practitioners.
How do you feel? That is more important than numbers!! Many people have suppressed TSH when taking any form of thyroxine. DO NOT let your doctor reduce your meds based on blood tests alone, do not agree to lowering your meds, to comply with the NHS all changes in medication levels have to be discussed and agreed!!
Thanks Glynisrose and reallyfedup123. The GP phoned last night and didnt even mention reducing the dose! I'm taking Vic C500 x 4 and iron in some medication. Going to see a Functional Medical Practitioner on the 10th who will probably do blood tests so will wait for that. Am climbing slowly back to 2 grains Armour - and onwards.
