Should this be taken sublingually?
THYROID-S: Should this be taken sublingually? - Thyroid UK
THYROID-S
Sub lingual means under the tongue, so the idea is to let a tablet dissolve in the mouth as it were. In my experience, the tabs are too hard to take in this way
I don't want to get into "should" or "should not". Thyroid-S is a coated tablet. Coatings are usually intended to dissolve in the gut and not the mouth. If you decide that you want to let it dissolve slowly in the mouth, you might have to either allow a very long time or in some way breach the coating.
I have no experience of taking any desiccated thyroid so this is on the basis of information read!

Doesn't have to be but it can be. I typically take my mid afternoon dose sublingually as I've usually had food or coffee too close to it.
I find it takes about 5 mins to dissolve under my tongue completely, provided I don't have a dry mouth.
I use Thyroid S. Chew it. Always chew it. You will feel a greater benefit from it that way. It tastes nice.
Thanks! - agree about the taste!
