Zinc and copper are antagonistic towards each other - if one is high the other is likely to be low. The most common problem is too much copper and too little zinc. There is lots of info about zinc and copper on the web :

metabolichealing.com/zinc-c...

chriskresser.com/rhr-could-...

For the second link, search the page to find the words copper and zinc - it's a long page.

I could be wrong, but to fix your high copper I think you need to take more zinc - but I really wouldn't swear to that, and you will have to research it yourself.

Thank you. I have researched it and read chris kesslers article.

I think being over range in the copper could be part of why I feel anxious.

Also I have high nighttime cortisol so taking zinc supplement could help lower the copper level and lower the high cortisol.

I've also read that high copper prevents proper conversion of T4 to T3. Which confirms my endocrinologist saying I wasn't converting properly as T4 was above range and T3 right at bottom.

For high night-time cortisol, this is a good page to read :

Adrenal fatigue would create the anxiety so please check out the many pages of info about it on the web. Start with Dr. Wilson's site and just Google "Adrenal Fatigue", you need some help with your adrenals because of the cortisol levels.

Did you get to the bottom of the zinc/copper balance? Just wondering where you got your testing done, was it by the GP?

My Gp did the testing.

I took zinc for about 6 weeks.

I haven't had further tests only the second one to see. If the levels had changed which they did

Thanks. And do you feel any better? Do you think it was down to the copper?

No I don't feel any better but I have other health issues going on.

I've changed to Nature throid and now have severe muscle pains to add to things.

I hope you find your answer
