Frequent colds

Iv`e noticed that I catch cold after cold in the wintertime since my thyroid bailed out on me. I know that this is probably down to a lower than normal body temperature despite taking Levothiroxine. Is there anything that i can do to boost my resistance?

Hairyfairy, make sure your ferritin and vitD levels are good and take 1-2mg vitamin C daily to help you fight off infection. Most of us need to supplement vitD Oct-Apr when ultraviolet levels are too low to stimulate vitD.

I was like that for years until I was put on NDT. This year my NDT (ERFA) is not working and I have had one cold/infection after another.

But I agree about making sure your Vitamin D/C/B12 levels are good too.

I take propolis, which is something produced by bees in their beehives (apparently, it's something to do with protecting the young bees against infections, etc). Since I've been taking it, the constant colds, etc, I always had have vanished. Might be worth trying this?

(note: you can't take it if you're allergic to bee products, of course)
