Fed up with always getting colds and bugs

I ended 2018 with a nasty chest infection which took months and a ton of medication to budge. After that I seemed to have a cold or a bug every few weeks, all through the year. 2019, I spent 2nd Christmas in a row, too poorly to get out of bed (with a cold, each time, rather than regular hypo symptoms). I seemed to recover, but by the end of Jan this year, I'd picked up another cold.

I'm pretty well (if not perfectly) medicated, and nutrients are on the up. I've got to the point now that I ring Dr for help as soon as I suspect an infection. (Had a flu jab too) Oh and under a Chest Specialist, who is 'watching'.

Is there anything else I can do? I'm sooooo bored with being sick with one thing or another.

I had a nasty bug the end of last year and it took 2 lots of antibiotics and steroids to get rid of it. Here I am over 5 weeks later and I still keep having coughing fits. I think sometimes our body becomes low and we have difficulty fighting off these virus's. I went 4 years without catching a cold probably because I was a recluse and rarely left the house. Since I have been more active I think I am mixing with lots of people and that is why I picked up the bug. Before Christmas I was in a cafe and the woman behind the counter was coughing and sneezing so I could see she had some kind of bug. I told her she should be at home if you are ill and she told me her manager would not let her have time off because they were too busy. I then asked someone else to serve me and she looked upset. I explained to her that I did not want to catch her flu bug this near to Christmas because my grandson had already been in hospital because of a nasty chest infection and it was nothing personal I just did not want to pass it on to him.

well that is another problem in itself. I feel crap AND because get nasty symptoms, I don't want to spread it about.

What’s your temperature?

I had chronic sinusitis, tonsillitis, repeated coughs & colds, & caught something if somebody coughed or sneezed in the next room. Infections usually lasted the end of autumn to the start of summer. My normal body temperature prior to taking NDT was 35.2 degrees C. In the six years I’ve been taking NDT, my new normal temperature is a full degree higher. Aside from the winter I had to ration NDT, infections are now rare, mild & short, & don’t always follow contact with poorly people. T3 alone doesn’t seem to have quite as much benefit.

I work on prevention as I have a progressive lung disease and the last thing I need is a bug that affects my chest or lungs. The things I have found that help are:

* Vit C daily, I just scoop some powder out but it's probably in the region of 2 grams. I use Acerola Cherry powder.

* Garlic supplement daily. I use Allimed liquid, it's allicin and is supposed to be the most bioavailable. I take one teaspoonful daily in a small amount of orange juice, it can be increased if you have a cold, etc.

* From October to April I take 1 x homeopathic Oscillococcinum pillule a month (on the first day of the month to make it easy to remember), made up by a homeopathic pharmacy.

* If I feel a cold/flu type symptoms/chest infection starting I immediately start taking Oil of Oregano capsules.

* Hand hygiene is essential, wash hand before and after going out as bugs can be picked up from shopping trolley handles, door handles, etc.

My son has recently had a cold which has lasted 3 weeks. Unfortunately I started with it, mine lasted 2 days and was nothing more than sneezing and nose blowing. It's the first cold I've had for many, many years. I don't have the flu jab.

Presumably youre more likely to get bugs because your immune system is compromised. Has anyone tried to strengthen it naturally eg with echinacea?
