I need a full iron panel done and doc won't do it only ferritin. Has anyone found one reasonably charged in the UK please? Thanks in advance.
Can anyone please tell me the cheapest place in... - Thyroid UK
Can anyone please tell me the cheapest place in UK to get a full iron panel done please
If you live near a Spire Hospital, you can get this test done, and phlebotomy is included in the price. Also there is no need to send the blood off anywhere - it just gets left with Spire :
Look at the right hand column - the Comprehensive Plus V blood test. To minimise the cost :
1) You must order via the web site, not by phone.
2) You should also use the August coupon code (see the top of page banner).
3) if you register you get an additional 5% off.
It covers cholesterol, kidney & liver function tests, a full blood count, very basic thyroid tests, full iron panel, vitamin B12, vitamin D, and folate.
I did this test in July, and once I had done all the above the price dropped to just under £115. The iron related figures I got were ferritin, UIBC, Iron, TIBC, Transferrin Saturation, plus I got a full blood count which also helps with interpretation of iron status.
Totally agree with above comment, I've used them and excellent service, plus I would suggest it's better to have the whole blood screen rather than just iron,, gives a fuller picture plus not much more in cost. I was about to do this recently but doctor agreed to do full screen however I'll prob do this in couple months or if I'm unhappy with the nhs version of full screen,
Thanks guys but my doc will and has been testing all except full iron panel. A few years ago I did an iron test where they send you the pot and a little device where it shoots a little blade into your finger and then you bleed into the pot but I can't for the life of me find where The lab was I used then
I know what you mean, I did the vitamin d test like that but I can't find a similar iron one,, possibly cos a true iron test will do whole profile,, Inc ferritin folate saturation hemoglobin etc,, so you get full picture. The company we've suggested do do that but for only bit more money you can get whole screen done Inc thyroid tsh and ft4 ,,
I know theres one out there. I did blood spot test for d3 wish I could find the one I did. If I can find it I will post link where it is
could this be it ?? its on amazon too but tests ferritin only as an indicator for anemia. so prob not what you want. sorry cant find anything else homehealth-uk.com/medical/a...
Perhaps this test might fit the bill? Also by Blue Horizon, but is not comprehensive :
Do a search for Iron Status Profile.
And for a home test for vitamin D :
The price has recently gone up. It was £25, but is now £28.
Yes that might be the one actually. Thank you. Do you think that's the going price then?
I've never seen a cheaper vitamin D test than the site I gave. But that doesn't mean much because I've never bought an individual vitamin D test. It's always been included with some other tests I've had done.
I think this might be it because its got the saturation as well.homebloodtest.co.uk/shop/ar...
