If your doc is like mine and works off TSH only, then probably she will want you to reduce, but if your FT4 is within range (you don't quote the ranges) and you have no symptoms of over-replacement, and you are now feeling well, then stand your ground and refuse a reduction.

I did that when my TSH was <0.02(0.35-6) and my GP was having kittens, but my FT4 was only 14.1 (9-26). He can't see past the TSH and won't read Dr Toft's article!

Stick to your guns!

The ranges are tsh 0.27 to 4.2 and t4 is 10-20

When did you up your meds? Before the test, or afterwards?

Your results will be skewed by taking your meds before your blood test. You can tell your GP you made a mistake and shouldn't have taken meds till afterwards. Refuse to lower meds.

If you feel great and increased your medication before your blood tests refuse to decrease. The doctors misunderstand, they think a very low TSH is not good, whereas many of us feel much better when its low or suppressed. To understand what happens when they adjust meds according to the TSH alone read the first two questions/answers on the following link.

Next time, don't take your meds before blood drawn and have blood test as early in the day as possible.

Hope your next tests prove to your Dr you need to higher dose. i.e. you feel much better on the higher dose and Dr has no worries because your blood tests results are what he wants! Good luck.
