Fatigue when Meds increased?

I was just wondering if anyone else experienced quite extreme fatigue when thyroid meds were increased (after being quite under-treated for a long time)? Thanks :)

It is normal to feel worse after an increase. For me weeks 3 and 4 were always really bad - enough to make me wrongly decide to revert to the lower dose again. Then of course I had to go through the increase again as I really needed it. I have always split my levo dose as I found this made increasing gentler.

Thanks that’s good to know I think I expected to feel better and was worried there for a bit. Thanks :)

yes always in the middle weeks especially if I’ve got my period, like walking through treacle, improves again week 7-8. Weird huh 🤔

I also split my Levothyroxine dose. After a few years of under-treatment, I cannot cope with the full dose all at once (even though I used to be on it without any issues) it just makes me feel awful.

I get extreme tiredness if I go over or under medicated. As you’ve had an increase you may have gone over medicated. I’d get your bloods checked to see if your TSH has gone suppressed and at what level your T4 and T3 are at. But for this scenario it’s best to take your meds as usual not to abstain before a blood draw. It’s the only way to find out how high the levels are.

Same for me, either under or overmedication causes extreme tiredness. Would check numbers x

I was tired all day and couldn't sleep at night with anxiety, so I started taking meds at night, now I sleep like a log and can better control the anxiety during the dY.
