Is Serum Ferritin too low and B12 too high. I have printout of blood tests today and trying to understand results.

I've had full bloods done and working my way through but so far getting conflicting research on these two.

B12 1631 PG/ML

Serum Ferritin 35 ng/ml

I read that anything under 50 ng/ml is too low for full functioning.

I asked for B12 because of increasing numbing and burning sensations.

Please help as I did see a link here to ideal levels for us and can't find it. :)x

And the GP told me Vit D was fine she could tell that by my colour because we make D from the sun....immediately I slumped with disappointment. Then, after the consultation, I requested tests printout from reception (and they flustered, asking if doc requested and I said, 'No but I am entitled, aren't I ?!' ) the Vit D test read: regret sample leaked in transit please repeat...why didn't she!!!!

Unfortunately, I was so brain foggy I totally messed up my appointment with my usual doc and had to see newly trained GP.

Don't know if this is the link you were thinking of. It mentions 500-1,300 pg/ml instead of 200-1,100

Thanks, I thought there was page on here with recommended levels.

Are you supplementing B12?

I have been on and off for a year now.

You need to be off B12 for at least 4 months for any hope of an accurate test result, maybe even longer. It's difficult to call. Supplements will raise your levels without necessarily relieving your symptoms.. When did you last take them, and did you feel they helped?

I stopped for a few weeks whilst trialling thyroid med then started again last week. I believe they did make me feel different ..more energy and less blurry

I will pay more attention in future
