TSH level Can someone interpret please.

I just the printout from my G.P.. This is the first time I've had a printout, infact this is the first annual full check I've had. Normally it's just thyroid bloods and ring for the result. So I'm not use to seeing things written down like this.

For the thyroid function it says,

serum TSH level 2.64 min/l range 0.35-4.5

Last bloods were in January

TSH 0.078

T4 13 range 11-24

T3 5.1 range 4-6.8

No T3 or T4 tested this time.

I'm taking 20 mcg T3 in divided dose.

Hi Beaton - I have read that once on T3 only the tests are not so helpful. I'm surprised your TSH is not lower or suppressed on T3. FT4 will be low as you are on T3 and there will only be small amounts possibly still being produced by the thyroid.

The results could mean an increase in your dose would help. How are you feeling ? I posted today about the reliability of the TSH and someone else added another very relevant post - could be worth a read when you are feeling up to it !

Thanks for your reply Marz,I will look at your post. In previous teats, where they did do T3, my TSH was suppressed,I thought perhaps I wasn't reading it right. Hoe do I feel? nether good nor bad would be the answer to that. :/

Best to go by how you feel - celebrate the good days - and go with the flow on the not so good. Take good care.... :-)

Thanks Marz :). See endo in August, mind he doesn't know I'm on T3 only. :/

On the optimum dose of T3 I would think your TSH would be much lower than 2+.. In fact it is going towards 3 and in the USA you would receive treatment if undiagnosed.

Yes Shaws,I thought you'd say that. I can't understand the jump. TSH has always been much lower since starting T3 particularly. :?

Maybe a small increase would be o.k. Although if it was that range when you see the Endo, he would be happy you were 'in range' and may let you stay on T3.
