I am shocked....

I have been self medicating for 3 years now and have felt pretty good! I moved back to UK last year and was worried I would not get my t3 prescribed. Well.... yes I did by a nice training doctor so I thought this was a fluke ha! Well she left and so I thought ok it's gonna stop. It didn't I had my bloods done and another doc phoned and said it was fine but.....They never checked t3 levels!

Well....here's the shocker.....I recently moved doctors and thought I had better have another blood test as it had been a while.....I don't have ranges sadly but here it is

Tsh 0.05

T4 18.4

T3 10

The doc wanted to speak to me about my glucose which was high but she was not worried as it was a random glucose test but the test also on t3 came back as high and I thought ok here it is she will take me off! I prepared myself for days. I gave been over medicated under a UK doctor years ago and I certainly don't feel it!

Well she phoned......she said she was not worried by t3 level it was slightly out of range but asked did I feel well...I do so she said ok as long as you feel well stay as you are!!!!

Still shocked now but then someone might come back and say something different!

Just to say.....There are doctors who don't seem bothered by t3 and few of them live in Gloucestershire it would appear :-))!

Lucky you! I am moving to Gloucestershire. As a matter of interest, what doses of T3 and T4 are you on? Am so pleased for you that you have found the answer to good health. x

Lol!... I take 150 mcg t4 and 37.25mcg of t3 spread out. I was told previous to starting t3 that my thyroid is completely destroyed. Don't know why.

Other than congenital lack of thyroid and autoimmune disease destroying the thyroid, and surgery (but I presume you would have noticed that!), I cannot think of another cause of destroyed thyroid. So I'd presume autoimmune thyroid disease, aka Hashimoto's.

I like this bit "......she said she was not worried by t3 level it was slightly out of range but asked did I feel well...I do so she said ok as long as you feel well stay as you are!!!!" Treating by symptoms is rarer than hens teeth so hang on to her :-D

Good for you that you've a GP treating symptoms! Now, any chance of cloning that doc several times over and distributing the clones around the country? LOL particularly central London?
