At present i am on 125 Levo....2 1000 Vit D tablets..... and 1x500 Naproxen which are taken twice a day for pain.My Levo is taken at 8 am but i read that i should wait 4 hours before taking the other meds (Vit D and Naproxen) so i take them at 12 midday with food and another Naproxen at 6pm with food.Just out of curiosity i asked a chemist what is the best way to take them and i was told they can all be taken together so long as Vit D has no calcium supplement with it.Does anybody else have experiance of these meds and what have you been told the best way to take them?

Levo,2000 Vit D, 500 Naproxen.Best way to take them please?.
Hi henrythewasp. From all my research into this, it seems calcium and estrogen are the things that shouldn't be taken within 4 hours of levo. You should take levo on an empty stomach, wait an hour after taking before eating. So, I think your chemist was correct.
Hospital pharmacist told me Levo is best taken in the morning. Didn't mention food, drink or other meds. I think that is just because compliance is more likely.
Informed opinion seems to be that Levo should be taken one hour before or two hours away from food and drink, two hours away from most meds and supplements and four hours away from iron and calcium but there are other meds it needs 4 hours away from.
VitD needs fat to be absorbed well, hence taking it with food.
There has been a little controversy regarding the four hour lapse. If you take calcium, you must wait four hours before your hormone BUT if you take hormone first, you only need to wait an hour. Obviously one goes through and empties the areas involved at a quicker rate than the other according to some. This makes sense to me but others may disagree.
Vitamins should always be taken with food since your food should be your vitamins or nutrients to begin with. Oily vitamins would be better with oily foods.
Naproxen like aspirin with food might offer some protection for stomach lining but I like taking it the night before a physical activity.
