Are you on any medication? Do you have symptoms of a thyroid problem?

My gut feeling looking at your results is that you aren't converting T4 into T3 very well, since your T4 is right at the top of the range and your T3 is right at the bottom of the range.

There are various nutrients that need to be at optimal levels to help the body to convert well. If you got your ferritin, iron, vitamin D, and vitamin B12 levels checked and post the results here (including the reference ranges), people could comment on whether you should be supplementing or not.

Try ferrous fumerate 210mg a day with vit c to increase ferritin/iron, not Spatone.

Thankyou cc120, Iwas also thinking of taking T3. A friend is lending me Paul Robinsons book. Bit nervous of self medicating, but not getting help from drs or endo, so will have to try ,with help from friends and HU.

Hi appy45, I'm going the self-medicating route also. Have purchased Nature-throid (from abroad) but needed to up ranges of B12 (apparently the most important to increase if low), iron/ferritin, folate (was low but as supplementing with B12 injections, need to ensure folate increased also) and calcium and Vit D3, apparently need together in the same way as Vitamin C is needed to aid absorption of iron (ferrous fumerate). Though I have gathered a fair bit of info, not nearly as informed or as clever as a lot of the forum members, so though would be happy to answer any questions, would do so as long as you always post the question for others, and also do your own research. Regards Catherine.
