I've just been prescribed Armour by a private endo. I'm wanting to try it but my insurance doesn't cover my prescriptions and I'm wondering how much it costs and therefore what my annual cost for getting it will be? Can anyone advise?
Thanks
Kathy

When on Erfa, I think I paid about £50 for 3 months. Others who are on Armour will confirm
Hi Kathy, I think 3 bottles of 100 tablets was going to cost me around £300 from my local pharmacy, and that was after they had rung around to find the cheapest supplier :-s very expensive! In the end my GP prescribed it for me thankfully on the NHS so I don't have to pay anything. Is this an option you can look into? If you have a nice endo who is willing to prescribe you Armour I'm sure they wouldn't mind writing to your GP to ask them to prescribe? xx
In the past, a private gp consult was £80 and that included the prescription for several month's worth. The prescription also had 1 repeat. The tabs were about £35 for 100. Hope that helps
But frankly, it is cheaper to buy online without prescription, so that it what i do
sorry for late reply but I'm playing catch up! I used to get my prescriptions from Springfield Pharmacy in Richmond on Thames. Very speedy service - just post presciption to them and they send erfa/armour by return post, special delivery. The cost depends on the strength of the tablet but they will happily talk to you about cost if you give them a ring. Tel 020 8255 8096. I'm currently buying from abroad as I was seeing Dr Skinner who sadly died before Christmas and I have yet to find someone else willing to prescribe NDT. As a matter of interest, where did you see your endo? How lovely to find someone willing to give a private prescription! Hope this helps..
