I.ve been found to be low in ferratin folic and vit d doc said my b12 is on the low side 237 but will not have me on injections just take multivitamins he said, so am buying some of amazon. Should i have the strongest dose also my iron tabs the doc as given me says to seek advice if on certain meds and levo is one of them i have some here from when i was pregnant and they are ok to take ones sulphate and the other is furate i think it says whats the difference. Also i.ve not had calcium tested and i don.t drink milk at all never liked the stuff. No yogurts either i have cheese now and then i know i am probably low in that as doc warned me before that i need calcium in my diet should i just take some vitamins for that aswell. The doc gave me folic acid and their leaflet states not to take if b12 dificiant or have any problems with b12 . So say i carried on taking the folic acid and i didn.t take b12 what will happen .thanks

Hi

I can't advise you on B12, but I've had problems with ferritin ever since 2009. My GP and I finally decided my levels were unpredictable and to test every three months, and to simply stay on iron supplements.

I can personally recommend ferrous (iron) "bis-glycenate" because it's gentle on the stomach and doesn't cause constipation like other types of iron can do.

Good luck

Someone else will help re your other supplements but Vitamin B12 should be methylcobalamin as that's the best one for us. You can get sublingual so that it goes into your bloodstream. All supplements you take should be taken 4 hours after your thyroid gland medication. You should aim for the B12 to be in the upper level. I don't know your doctor's range but I think it's about 900. Lack of Vit B12 can cause other problems, nerve damage, dementia to name a few.
