Hi just wondering if anyone seen dr j Kenyon at the dove clinic I have an appointment to see him this week. If anyone come pm me their experiences with him thanks.
Also this was my last thyroid blood test result from June 2013 for those that are interested. I was diagnosed with under active thyroid 11 years ago and currently on 125mg levothyroxine for the last year I have felt so unwell so fatigued and sweating and the list goes on to the point I can only work 6 hours a week and I'm only 25. Will be hoping to get these levels retested at my appointment. Also a quick note prior to having these tests I did run out of thyroxine so didn't take for a few days before
Serum tsh level 0.06mu/l. Range 0.35-4.50mu/l
Serum free t3 4.4 pmol/l. 3.50-6.50pmol/l

Hopefully, the doctor will see beyond blood test results as, on paper, they look o.k.
You should be asked 'how do you feel' and if unwell (in my opinion) you should be offered other than levothyroxine. As you have had an underactive thyroid gland since the age of 11 and you are still only 25, you are entitled (in my view) an alternative to levothyroxine.
Your new doctor may be able to prescribe T3 alone (or T3 added to a reduced T4). T4 (levo) should convert to enough T3 - the active thyroid gland hormone we need in each an every cell in our body and our brain has the most.
I myself was never well on levo, I had T3 added and it made a difference but am best on T3 alone or a natural dessicated thyroid gland which many doctors will not prescribe.
I hope you have a good consultation and a reasonable doctor.
If your GP hasn't done blood tests for Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate as we are usually deficient in these which can cause problems in themselves.
Thanks for your reply, yes I feel awful most of the time. Yes I was thinking it may be time to try an alternative. My vit d was tested in 2012 and 36.79 and I was put on a supplement for 3 months and it was never retested. Ferritin was 59. I will ask the dr tomorrow about testing everything you mentions and if not go back to the GP. I'm hoping he has some good ideas as I can't function normally.
Hi! How did you get on with Dr Kenyon? I am feeling pretty desperate and have a short list of two doctors I think could help me and he is one of them. I'd be very grateful if you could PM me with your opinion of him. I hope you are feeling much better now.x
