Hi, new to this forum so apologies if ive put this in the wrong place
Here's my story. I initially got rushed into hospital on Xmas eve with a suspected anyphalactic shock as my neck swelled to the point of not being able to breathe properly.... that feeling subsided within 45 mins and was able to go home. I went to my gp just after Xmas and examined my neck to see that I had a very large noticeable lump. Was referred to ent. Had an ultrasound which found a solid follicular nodule which was 6cmx4cmx3cm so very large! (No wonder I had issues breathing!) I also had an fna which came back inconclusive.
I had a partial thyroidectomy on the 14th Feb. I don't have an app to see the surgeon now until 12th march
How long generally do biopsies take to come back? The waiting is absolutely killing me. I cant think of anything else Am I within my rights to call the ENT dept to see if they are back or do i have to wait for mt appointment?
Also, i know the odds are 20% chance of being malignant but not sure if the odds are higher where its so large and grew very rapidly
The hospital werent exactly helpful with any of my questions!
Thanks in advance for any responses
