Hi, Can anybody tell me where and how much it is to purchase Amour?

Hi I have a private script and find always the cheapest, by post, is Springfield in London.
A lot of people do purchase it abroad without a script but I do not know details. Any way they have to be by PM and not on the open site.

I get my Armour from the USA, if you PM me I can give you details of cost etc. Sorry I can't PM you, don't know how to do it since they changed this site
I have sent you pm.
Why is it that whenever someone asks about the availability or cost of Ndt we are told to PM? What's the big secret. Surely the more open we are about Ndt the more aware more of us and hopefully the Nhs will become about the fact that synthetic does not work for a lot of us.
Although I have the word Administrator by my name, I have not actually discussed the reasons with TUK. So this is as I see things - others are welcome to disagree.
First off, there is absolutely no secrecy about the products. Details of several desiccated thyroid products are even detailed on the Thyroid UK web site:
thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/treatm...
(There is also information on where in the UK to get it if you have a prescription.)
Secondly, there is no censorship of people's experiences with desiccated thyroid - good and bad. People come here and shout from the rooftops how their lives were transformed by desiccated thyroid. If any medics come here I am sure they will get the drift of so many posts.
Unfortunately, many people end up having to obtain their desiccated thyroid without a prescription. (Ironically, sometimes even when they have doctors who are perfectly content with their decision to choose desiccated thyroid.) That essentially means buying over the internet.
There are, I'd guess, at least hundreds of possible sources on the internet. Of these, some are very decent and above board, some less so. And there will be some outright scoundrels who might occasionally supply the real thing!
It is impossible for Thyroid UK to maintain any reasonable, up-to-date and reliable "register" of decent suppliers. And yet that is exactly what anyone following a link from here would expect. If something goes wrong (whether it results in simple financial loss or, far worse, supply of fake product) then Thyroid UK would feel some sort of responsibility for having left a link for people to follow. But they really are not in a position to validate links at all. Further, what is a good link today might become "must avoid at all costs" in the future. No-one can expect links from old posts to be policed and yet people will find them, and might use them.
So it seems a far better plan to avoid links being posted altogether. This does not stop people sending PMs to those who wish to know. That would, I hope, imply personal and current endorsement of the suppliers about whom they send details. And it doesn't stop people asking to be sent links.
Hopefully this provides an adequate information flow without the problems that could otherwise occur.

Hi Hypo - I agree it should be better known but medics DO know but it is considered an 'old fashioned' outdated 'medicine' in favour of Levo - you just can't patent a pig!
It is because NDT (pig hormone) is a prescription medicine in the UK - so not available 'over the counter' therefore TUK have guidelines to protect everyone....
22.Do not post advertisements, links or information of any sort whatsoever, on where or how to obtain UK prescription only medications without prescription.
However on this site we are free to discuss alternatives (see Rod's post) and send PMs (private messages - just click on the poster/pic to send a message). J
On what grounds would they try and stop a perfectly legal import? They only stop the ones over £15 value to collect vat and handling.
The logic of that is that they will prevent both levothyroxine and liothyronine as well - not because they are "natural" but they are not in patent.
The import/vat/charge issues are the same for non-medical products.
We can agree that is "bad enough"; we can disagree about it having anything whatsoever to do with the product.
I used to get my NDT tablets on prescription through Dr. Skinner. I like many have been left in limbo not knowing what to do next. Anyway I found a company to order them from overseas, just had them delivered within two weeks of ordering. Can let you have the company details if you PM me. Only downside is you have to pay a customs charge and £8 handling charge from the postoffice.
I mentioned patent because you said "you cant patent natural product" as the reason for doctors not prescribing desiccated thyroid.
Do you think that Forest make more or less profit from desiccated thyroid than levothyroxine? (Actually, it appears that they might have discontinued their Levothroid branded product. So the answer will in future definitely be that they make more from desiccated thyroid.)
It would be so very helpful if you used the Reply to this facility when replying to a specific comment.
Oh, this is news, How long ago did Forrest say they would not send armour to the uk? Is this a case where the manufacturer will not supply but overseas chemists will?
