where and how can I purchase armour thyroid ?

I have been taking armour thyroid for 5yrs and feel much better on it. I used to buy it off the internet but that is not possible now. any ideas ?

I used to see an endocrinologist , dr Peatfield and he suggested that I try armour thyroid. He isnt able to prescribe, but I ordered it off the internet without any difficulty, but now the regulations have tightened up and I cant get it off the internet. I have asked my gp for a private prescription but he says he hasnt heard of the drug and wont prescibe it !

I think you have to find a sympathetic doctor. My GP is also a homeopath so prescribed Erfa thyroid (the Canadian version of Armour) and the chemist keeps a stock. I hope this helps.

thanks for that info, where abouts in england is your gp ? maybe if I could let my gp know that other gps prescribe it he would re consider.

It sounds like my GP is pretty unique from Reading people's comments. My GP is in Bristol. As he's a homeopath too would it be worth speaking to a doctor at a homeopathic hospital. There's one in Bristol, London and Glasgow I think? they may have a more alternative view?

I live in stourbridge, west midlands, so there is nothing more local, yes its a thought, but not sure if they would agree to treat me ?

I am in the same position as you, I am with Dr.Myhill and she has now been suspended from practising medicine so cant prescribe anything. I have no idea where to get armour thyroid either, and NHS docors wont prescribe it. Have you had any luck finding somewhere Maggie?

Just to let you know if you are still having probs getting armour thyroid , try <an online source> on google. You have to pay for customs once it reaches england.

can I just re assure you that I am not self medicating as such, I have recieved consultations with dr peatfield having been diagnosed with hashimotos by my gp. I felt very ill on the medication prescribed by my gp , and swopped to armour 6mths aft seeing dr p, and im soooo glad I did !
