Any advice - I'm running out of steam and just can't keep fighting.

Hello all.

I've spent the better part of two years fighting a former employer.

I was arrested at the time( a horrendous experience) as she claimed I had commited fraud. The police then released me with no charge a couple of months later.

Since the chief constable and the head of the CPS became involved (after she complained) I have been told I now have to appear at a magistrates court - no warning just a letter in the post. I have spoken to a barrister who has been going over the evidence - my problem is I don't honestly remember things from four years ago...

Under the contract I had at the time it stated I had to pay back any money I owed at the end of employment - which I totally agree with. I am still bemused by the fact that they have stated I owe £202, but I must fight to clear my name rather than pay the amount.

I am struggling with the hypothyroidism as the levels are all over the place, my B12 has all but disappeared, Iron and folic are dropping and the doctor says I'm depressed.

This is on top of the two operations last year for breathing problems and an endometrial ablation (I now can't have children). I also have to look forward to an operation this year on my gall bladder.

Sorry to vent, but I really am getting to my wits end. The statement 'innocent until proven guilty' should be changed to 'innocent if you can pay for it'.

My option at the moment is to plead not guilty and ask for the crown court. I have no faith in the magistrates court, as these are people she works with every day.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's not clear from your post whether you have now been charged, or why you need to appear in Court, which I guess is an indicator of the level of stress you are under, but either way, my advice to you would be to go and get some advice from a solicitor who specialises in criminal law. You can find one by looking on the Law Society's website.

hi.

Thanks for the advice. I am already seeing a barrister. The solicitor who is speaking on my behalf has said I do not need to go as he is my legal representative.

To say I am totally confused and stressed is putting it mildly. I seem to be caught up in a game where everyone knows the rules except me.

I cannot give you advice only to say it is an horrendous story and to force you to go to court instead of allowing you to pay seems outrageous to me. As well as having medical procedures which sets your health back it is an enormous struggle for you.

No wonder your doctor says you are depressed but if you can get a copy of your latest thyroid gland blood tests, with the ranges, and post for members to comment upon them - you could still be undermedicated and need some more levo.

Best wishes

Hello.

Thank you for responding.

I'm sorry I went off on a bit of a rant. I do appreciate people cannot comment or offer advice on the situation, I think what I really am asking is :-

Am I properly medicated as everything is getting on top of me.

I will post them as a separate question so other members can read them without the rant.

Thanks
